Immediately after World War I, how were conditions in Japan different from conditions in Germany?

Answer:

Japan was on the winning side in World War 1. They emerged a major power after the war and were enabled to gain more colonies. Germany on  the other hand was on the losing side during World War 1. They lost land and had to pay great sums of money to the allies. They were also on the brink of starvation.
