Unreliable is being not useful or dependable on something.
For example my phone is the absolute opposite of unreliable

Unreliable literally means "not able to be relied upon"

An example of it uses in a sentence is: John is always late, in general he's very unreliable". In this case the word unreliable is being used to describe John as someone who cannot be relied upon
