Solution

We can do the following:

Ax + By + C= 0

Rewriting the line we got:

1x +1y +3=0

And the point is: (x= 2, y= 3)

and we can use the following formula:

[tex]d=\frac{|Ax_1+By_1+C|}{\sqrt[]{A^2+B^2}}=\frac{|1\cdot2+1\cdot3+3|}{\sqrt[]{1^2+1^2}}=\frac{8}{\sqrt[]{2}}\cdot\frac{\sqrt[]{2}}{\sqrt[]{2}}=4\sqrt[]{2}[/tex]
